INTERNATIONAL POSTER COMPETITION IN BEST CLINICAL PRACTICE WITH LMWH  

LABORATORIOS FARMACÉUTICOS ROVI S.A., in their commitment to grow in health, is pleased to organize a new edition of this international poster competition related to the best clinical practices in the management of VTE with LMWH. Healthcare professionals are invited to submit an online poster in VTE management.

Deadline for poster Submission: 5th October 2021 23.59h

The International Medical Society “European and Mediterranean League against Thrombotic Diseases (EMLTD)” will be in charge of the Scientific Evaluation of this Poster Competition.

A maximum of 3 winning posters will be rewarded with an individual economic prize of €1500 gross (For each prize, tax withholdings and other taxes established in the applicable regulations at the time of delivery will be applied). The independent Scientific Reviewing Committee, chosen by the EMLTD, will carefully evaluate all the posters received that meet the requirements and will choose 3 of them according to the highest score obtained.

Announcement to the winners will be effective on November 15th and the publication of the winning posters  will be available on www.thrombomed.com  from November 24th 2021.

RULES FOR POSTER SUBMISSION

The topics can cover any aspect related to the use of LMWH (as a therapeutic group) in clinical practice of VTE: Diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of VTE with LMWH, risk scores, and any project that may contribute to the wellbeing and improvement of quality of life of patients with VTE.

  • Only original works, not previously published or communicated in any congress, will be accepted.
  • The maximum number of posters allowed per author is limited to 1.
  • All the drugs included in the poster must be referenced to their active principle and preferably refer to the therapeutic group (i.e.: LMWH). Commercial names should not be stated. Each molecule mentioned in the poster must comply with its approved SPC in its country.

Poster submissions will only be accepted via the online platform enabled for this purpose and to which you will have access through the web page www.thrombomed.com or access it directly through https://posters.rovi.com/

  • Posters uploaded must be written in English. We highly recommend that prior to the online submission, all texts have been proofread for spelling and grammar errors.
  • Before submitting the poster, the main author must register on the online platform https://posters.rovi.com/ by completing an online formulary.
  • Posters sent by e-mail will not be accepted and therefore will not be considered as received.
  • Posters received after the deadline (5th of October 2021) and the one that do not comply to the poster rules will not be evaluated by the Scientific Reviewing Committee.

The authors are free to organize the poster sections as they find more appropriate to present their work, while the use of the available template is mandatory (ONE SLIDE ONLY in PPT, PPTX or PDF format, with the following dimensions: 90 cm (width) x 120 cm (height).

SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE

The International Medical Society "European and Mediterranean League Against Thrombotic Diseases (EMLTD)" will be in charge for the creation of the International Scientific Committee to evaluate the posters received.

The Executive Board of the EMLTD will choose the members of the Scientific Committee, who will evaluate all the posters (that meet the contest requirements) through the online platform. Scientific Committee will not access to the personal data of the author(s), therefore the evaluation will be done anonymously. The evaluation will include the following criteria* :

  • Scientific quality and originality
  • Methodology and development 
  • Applicability in a usual clinical practice

* Each criterion will be rated from 0 to 10 points, being 30 points the maximum score to obtain per poster by each scientific reviewer.

The Poster competition will be declared deserted if the minimum number of 20 posters per prize is not reached or if according to the Scientific Reviewing Committee, the presented works do not reach sufficient scientific or technical quality, or do not conform to the provisions of the contest requirements. The decision of the Scientific Committee in the poster(s) evaluation will be unappealable.

Laboratory participation will be only and exclusively limited to the process of validation of the competition bases established in the poster competition without any say in the evaluation of the posters.

Any aspect not foreseen in these bases will be resolved by the members of the Scientific Committee.

The following sections should appear in the poster

- Title: The title of the poster should be in capital letters and occupy 2 lines as maximum.

- First author: The name and surname of the person submitting the poster must be included.

-Other authors: The name and surname of all additional authors should be included.

- Affiliation of authors: Service/Unit/Department. Center´s name. City, Country.

- Description of the work, which could include sections such as:

  • Introduction or background.
  • Project objectives or description
  • Methodology (if applicable)
  • Results, discussion and / or conclusions.
  • Bibliography: i.e. Anderson FA Jr, Spencer FA. Risk factors for venous thromboembolism. Circulation. 2003;107(23 Suppl 1): I9-16.

These should be set out in clearly differentiated blocks.

Size font tip: minimum recommended text sizes are 85 pt font for the main title, 36 pt for subheadings, 24 pt for body text, and 18 pt for captions.

POSTER SUBMISSION DEADLINE 5th October 2021

All posters must be submitted before October 5th, 2021, at 23:59 h trough the online platform https://posters.rovi.com . Any work submitted after the deadline will not be evaluated by the scientific committee.

CONTEST PRIZES

Up to 3 posters will be reawarded  with a € 1500 gross prize (withholdings and other taxes established in the applicable regulations at the time of delivery will be applied) in a single payment.

The Scientific committee's resolution will be communicated to the winners on November 15th, and the winning posters along with a selection of the posters with the highest evaluation score (that comply with the contest rules), will be published on www.thromobomed.com from November 24th, 2021.

Additionally, the 3 winning posters will be presented as an oral communication within the framework of the international scientific meeting " Best Clinical Practice with LMWH" organized by ROVI on the 24th of November 2021.

Participation in this contest implies full acceptance of these rules.

In accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation, any personal data that may be provided by the author will be processed by Laboratorios Farmacéuticos Rovi, S.A. (hereinafter, "Rovi") to manage your registration and participation in this event, and to deliver the prize referred to in these rules.

LICENSING RIGHTS AND LIABILITY FOR THE POSTER SUBMITTED

- Participants who upload their poster to this platform grant a non-exclusive, free license to ROVI to use the poster uploaded within their own activities for research, information and promotion related to the material delivered. ROVI undertakes to preserve at all times the moral rights of the participants and to identify them as such.

- Participants declare that they are the original authors of their poster uploaded and the principal investigators of the investigations referred to in the poster. In the event of using cases or material belonging to third parties, the participants guarantee that they have authorization from the third parties for its use.

- Participants will be responsible to ROVI for the veracity of the content of the poster and for the non-infringement of copyright or any other rights of a third party, including but not limited to: industrial and intellectual property rights, rights to industrial or business secrets, obligations of confidentiality and non-disclosure.

- Participants confirm that have informed to the patients about taking the photos and/or recordings and, as well, have obtained their consent for the subsequent use of the mentioned images.

- Participants ensure, at all times, that no reference has been made in any case to the identity of the patients whose photos or images appear in the poster.

- In any case, the participant will indemnify and hold harmless ROVI against any demands or claims made by third parties on infringement of secrecy or any other intellectual property rights over the poster, its authorship or its content, as well as for the damages that could be generated as a consequence of the use of the images contained in the clinical cases provided by participants.
